DesignDemo has moved to its own url uidemo.com. Designdemo started out in 2006 as a category in my personal blog which focused on screencasts of data visualizations. After much thought I’ve decided to move it to its own domain. The new site UI Demo is an extension of the original idea where we will focus our screencasts on more than just visualizations.

In the new site we will explore all aspects of UI that can be better represented as screencasts as opposed to non-moving 2D images. These will include applications, design patterns, user flows, and more.

If you already have our RSS feed – don’t worry our feed has not changed. If you are new to the site be aware that the feed url is http://feeds2.feedburner.com/designdemo not uidemo. We did this to preserve our feed readers – sorry for any confusion with the name.

If you are a fan of DesignDemo just change your bookmark to uidemo.com. If you are new to the site – welcome, and I hope you enjoy all of the new content. Thanks, Max.

Newsmap show us a new way to look at world trends in news reporting through their Google News mashup. As they say on their website, “It’s objective is to simply demonstrate visually the relationships between data and the unseen patterns in news media.” One other aspect of Newsmap that was a great user experience was the instant language translation. Newsmap will be one of my daily reads from now on.
